Terminal 5

The future is here!

Boarding pass on my phone, it's like something out of Total Recall.

Very long corridor

This is one very long corridor... luckily our room is just on the left up ahead.

Opposite the lift

If you get tired while waiting for the lift, chill out in one of these chairs at the Radisson Edwardian. Oh, and hi Laura!

Chandeliers on their chandeliers

The Radisson Edwardian is so posh, they've even got chandeliers on
their chandeliers.

Restaurant

This was more impressive when it was dark and had mood lighting. At this point of the night the cleaners were in!

Radisson Edwardian Hotel

Expect lots of photos of this hotel...

Poshest hotel ever

Checking into the Radisson Edwardian Hotel makes me feel a bit like
Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. But without all the prostitution and
all that.

Upgrade

Arrived at the Edwardian Radisson and got a free upgrade to a King
Deluxe suite! Add in the included free 15 days of parking and this a
bargain at £88. Off to the bar now...

...and we are off...eek!

The cases were packed and loaded into the car (minus kitty cats), warning was given to Brad, the neighbourhood watch man, that we had friends staying so not to call the police and snuggles were given to cats who refused to snuggle back. We hit the road and finally made it to London town, to check in at the poshest hotel I've ever been in. No marking was completed during the journey because it was too dark and bumpy. Oh, and because I'm on holiday, the marking can bloody well wait!

Checked-in

Online check-in is complete!
I logged in quick as a flash as soon as the 24 hour departure window opened and even though we had a window seat already assigned, I moved us to the right hand side of the plane to afford better views as we arrive in the US (always thinking ahead...)

I had a brief moment of hesitation when I noticed that the exit seats were available to select (hello leg room!), but then recalled that the toilet is adjacent, so this would have been annoying (and smelly). Plus the wing would scupper any view. So 34J and 34K it is :)

Once again Seatguru.com proved most enlightening. Just wish I flew more often so I could use it more!

Flight

If you want to track our flight (BA67) when it's in the air on Saturday afternoon, click here. We return on 13th/14th April on BA68.

Or for a better flight tracking site, head to Flightradar24 and put in our flight number. And then you can watch not only our flight, but the flights around us too. Geeky fun.

Way back when

Earlier today when I was printing out all the travel documents, I
noticed the date on the flight booking confirmation: 16th June 2011.
So it's fair to say that we've been waiting very patiently for this
holiday to come around!

And now it's just a day away.

So much to do

We leave straight after work on Friday so everything needs to be sorted tomorrow night.

Even though I think we've been quite organised so far, why do I get the nagging feeling that at 11pm tomorrow night I'll be remembering things that need to be done and then running around the house panicking? Things that I haven't packed or things that I should have done?

Ah well, I'm not stressed though. What will be will be. And they have shops in America after all...
